AMLR — the EU single rulebook for AML/CFT

Regulation (EU) 2024/1624 replaces large parts of national AML law for obliged entities from 10 July 2027, alongside AMLD6 (national transposition) and the AMLA framework. Key shifts: uniform CDD, beneficial-ownership at 25% ownership-or-control, an EU-wide commercial cash cap of €10,000, crypto-asset service providers fully in scope.

Now: re-run the business-wide risk assessment against AMLR categories; review UBO data quality; reopen screening and monitoring vendor contracts. Next: policy rewrite against the final RTS packages as AMLA publishes them.
