EU AI Act — timeline reshaped by the digital omnibus

Prohibited practices and AI-literacy duties apply since 2 February 2025; GPAI obligations since 2 August 2025. The Council–Parliament provisional agreement of 7 May 2026 reschedules stand-alone high-risk systems (Annex III) to 2 December 2027 and product-embedded systems to 2 August 2028, and fixes transparency for AI-generated content at 2 December 2026.

Now: keep AI inventory and role determination on schedule; prepare content-labelling for December 2026. Monitor: formal adoption of the amending act — until publication, the original dates remain law.
